You will be an enthusiastic, forward-thinking self-starter with a desire to develop and drive forward the service and wider demands of the developing Undergraduate Education Agenda. You will work as part of a fast-paced, dedicated and progressive team.
You will be educated to 'A' level standard (or equivalent qualification or experience), ideally possess a strong working knowledge of medical education or training environments and awareness of the operational arrangements of the NHS.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.
As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents - it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.
To assist in the coordination of clinical placements of medical undergraduates in the Trust to ensure the smooth running of rotational timetables, to provide pastoral and welfare support, and to monitor student attendance and compliance on a daily basis.
Liaise with the Deputy Undergraduate Manager and Undergraduate Manager, the Education and Quality Manager, and the Clinical Lead before, during and after student placements to ensure that effective preparation, communication and audit evaluation has taken place.
Organise, implement and support the evaluation of the teaching programme both in the clinical environment and education setting, integrating the different programmes within students planned timetable.
Maintain records of student attendance and absence and report appropriately to the Deputy Undergraduate Manager and the Clinical Lead.
Attend and support regular Education meetings, produce and distribute minutes, agendas and supporting documentation as per procedures and guidelines.
Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Specialty Lead Clinicians, their teams and the clinical skills team to ensure that rotational programmes are produced to the University requirements and that they run smoothly with all contributors aware of their personal input.
Provide pastoral/welfare to students in crisis and with personal difficulties, counselling where appropriate and referring the more complex cases to the Deputy Undergraduate Manager and the Undergraduate Manager.
Set up and maintain confidential records of encounters outlined above recording actions taken/agreed, advice given, etc. Ensure that appropriate systems and documentation are in place should such information be required for University purposes in the future (e.g. evidence to support mitigating circumstances against assessment failure).
Liaise with University School of Medicine staff about student attachments, attendance, examinations, policies, quality assurance visits etc.
Proactively contribute to the strategic and operational running of the Education Centre.
Develop and maintain relevant databases, programmes of teaching and records, necessitating periods of concentrated effort to input large and varied amounts of data.
