**We have a great opportunity to join Avanti West Coast as the Head of Internal Communications in our People Team**

How do you effectively and meaningfully communicate with over 3500 colleagues who work across multiple sites, in varying roles at various times of the day and night?

As Head of Internal Communications you will help us find solutions to that challenge and make a genuine difference to the working lives of our colleagues.

As a member of the People senior leadership team you will lead this important and vital function responsible for ensuring that there is authentic and effective communication with colleagues across our whole community. You will ensure that colleagues know what is happening across our business, that they know how their work contributes towards our objectives and how they can have their say.

Sector experience is not important as what matters most is your commitment to improvement and your desire to deliver a quality internal communications service.

**Key Accountabilities**:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership on the development and implementation of our internal communications strategy, translating strategic activity into messages and activities that are relevant to our colleagues and secure support for it at Exec and senior level,- Ensure innovative and effective internal communications channels are in place across all levels of the business to deliver meaningful two-way communication to inform and engage colleagues.- Collaborate with external communications team to ensure alignment and readiness on key issues.

**About you**:
We are looking for an experienced internal comms leader who has experience of working in a customer facing and unionised environment You will embody great leadership presence to influence at executive level and across the business, with the ability to engage and build constructive relationships with stakeholders. You¿ll have strong commercial acumen and experience of leading an internal comms strategy from implementation to delivery.
