Caerphilly, United Kingdom Universal Resource Trading Ltd Full time

**Job Summary**

We are offering a unique opportunity to join our team of staff in Caerphilly as a Bookkeeper and Administrator. The contracted hours for this position are 37.5 hours with the opportunity for overtime. Salary is £12.50 to £16 per hour depending on experience.

**About Us**:
At UniGreenScheme, our hard-working team collect second-hand equipment from a number of prestigious UK universities, and process and photograph the items at our warehouse to be resold online.

Since our launch in 2016, our team has collected over 1,000,000kg of unwanted but usable equipment. Instead of this going into disposal skips, it has been photographed, tested, processed, and ultimately sold on to be re-used in hospitals, schools, and research labs across the world.

We have also supplied equipment to several movies and TV shows as props (including the upcoming Star Wars TV series) and have supplied equipment to a wide range of global buyers including NASA.

**About the Role**:
Daily duties will include general bookkeeping - processing of sales and purchase invoices, expense claims, credit notes, purchase orders and other financial documents. This alongside regular activities such as reconciling accounts, following up with outstanding debts, preparing VAT submissions etc.

As well as general bookkeeping, we also have opportunity to take on some administrative tasks. These may include recruitment activities - sending offer letters etc. Completing and updating of various staff policies and questionnaires. Maintaining staff files etc.

The vast majority of our sales are online or over the telephone so whilst this role is office-based, there would be mínimal interactions with customers. We have a sales team who deal with the majority of our cutomers.

There is an opportunity for remote working but this would need to be discussed and at least initial training would need to be office based.

**Training and Development**:
We use an open source ERPNext software package which has been heavily coded by our in-house developers and we do not expect staff to have any experience with this package before starting. Full training will be provided

**About You**:
To fulfil the role, you must be comfortable using a computer for the vast majority of your day.

Excellent attention to detail is also a must for this position. You will also have to closely monitor sales invoices and documents submitted by other staff to identify any potential errors.

It is important that you feel comfortable both working under direct supervision to meet targets, as well as self-motivating yourself when working independently.

**Other Considerations**:
The position is strictly non-smoking only.

You must have a valid driving licence and your own transport as our location at the Pontygwindy Industrial Estate in Caerphilly has very limited public transport options especially during the morning hours.

Closing Date: 06/12/2023

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.50-£16.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

- On-site parking

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
