**Job summary**:
The NC HEO Mov & DG Auditor is accountable to NC SEO Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) and is responsible for Movements and Dangerous Goods 2nd Line of Defence Assurance (2LoDA) across Navy TLB.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
**Primary Purposes**:
The NC HEO Mov & DG Auditor is responsible for the delivery across Navy establishments, ships and units iaw the annual assurance program. Deliver assurance of DG policy, principles and standards ensuring compliance with the requirement through inspection, investigation and/or enforcement, where appropriate.

Plan and complete audits of units and establishments to identify regulatory compliance including overseas audit activity.

**Secondary Purposes**:
Produce and submit Audit report to monitor standards and identify trends, strongly suggesting corrective actions if required.

Monitor unit responses to ensure that appropriate action has taken place to resolve any non-compliance.

Where possible, provide assistance and guidance to units in accordance with DGSA duties and functions to achieve compliance.

Develop the monitoring programme with due regard to unit roles and associated DG movement risks.

Carryout investigations regarding accidents and incidents involving DG, as tasked by NC SEO DGSA.

Liaise with other government departments and DTs representing Navy TLB ensuring DG compliance is both met and understood.

In conjunction with other government departments carry out compliance checks and appropriate enforcement action as tasked by NC SEO DGSA.

Attend DG meetings as required by the NC SEO DGSA. Maintain TLB specific Dangerous Goods policy and advice, while at the same time promoting good practice.

Refine and maintenance of Mov and DG question set to include policy and legislative updates in conjunction with NC SEO DGSA and ensure relevance to Navy TLB.

Maintain Mov and DG SharePoint Site.

**Person specification**:
**Mandatory Training and Experience**
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
- DGSA road
- DGSA road
- Authorised Representative (Road)
- Radiation Protection Supervisor

If out of date, all qualifications to be refreshed within 6 months of employment

**Desirable Training**
- Government Authorised Explosive Representative (GAER)
- Radiation Safety Officer

**Technical skills**:Provide technical advice to NC staff and units on:

- Matters relating to the NC operation, control and use of Dangerous Goods.
- Movement of dangerous goods and hazardous materials. Conduct periodic assessment of ADR DG training delivered in NC units to provide assurance of training.
