**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- To provide a support Medical Secretarial Service within the Service. To undertake accurate audio/copy typing of medical correspondence and general administration for the Consultants and the wider community paediatrics team. This will include highly sensitive and complex medical terminology with a need for confidentiality.
- To work to the agreed standards and templates for each Specialty/Department
- In the absence of the Senior Medical Secretary (or as appropriately delegated) to receive and open Consultant/medical staff’s mail, to action routine/non-routine and urgent correspondence and drawing the necessary items to the attention of the person concerned.
- In conjunction with the Senior Medical Secretary ensure that the departmental transcription workload is prioritised and maintained within time standards

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
