The role of the Clinical flow co-ordinator in MEAU is a very exciting opportunity, where you can become part of a dynamic and experienced team which is continually changing and developing and where no one day is the same. We strive to improve patient experience and treatment.

The team include a team of Junior doctors and Consultants who work alongside the nursing team and members of the wider MDT providing the highest quality care. MEAU is a busy, acute environment with a high turnover of patients.

This is a pivotal role within the ward to provide a confidential and comprehensive patient centred service regarding patient flow and coordinating simple discharges to enable a reduction in the length of stay, reduction in re-admission and increase the quality of discharge planning whilst supporting members of the MDT team.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within MEAU, we are looking for a motivated, well organized person who loves a busy environment to join us as a clinical Flow Co-ordinator.

The Clinical Flow Coordinator role provides the opportunity to make a difference to patient experience,co-ordinating and facilitating the effective, appropriate and timely flow of patients through MEAU. The successful applicants will be required to work with patients, families and staff to support a smooth discharge from hospital. The clinical Flow Coordinator will liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to help co-ordinate services and solutions required to reduce length of stay within the acute setting.

Use own analytical skills by liaising with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the correct discharge pathway is selected for the patient.

Inform nursing and medical staff of delays for investigations, assessment and social service delays and associated actions to rectify. Record these in the medical records.

Answer the phone and deal with requests for information, whilst maintaining patient confidentiality.
