Acute Services Lead

The post holder will lead the Acute Collaborative agenda and any subsequent work areas set ensuring all work stream and programmes are planned and carried out effectively.
The post holder will support the Chief Integration Officer by providing leadership and coordination in ensuring delivery of acute provider workstreams and associated programmes of work aligned to our ICS Principles.
To support effective acute collaboration to enable partnership arrangements involving two or more trusts working across multiple places to realise the mutual benefits of working at scale, to better enable transformation and collaborative working to continuously improve quality, efficiency, and outcomes, including unwanted variation in inequalities.
The post holder will support The Coventry and Warwickshire Collaborative bringing together Acute Providers at a Coventry and Warwickshire level.
This post will support the oversight and functionality of the Acute Provider Collaborative partnership arrangements will involve two or more trusts working across multiple places to realise the mutual benefits of working at scale, to better enable transformation and collaborative working to continuously improve quality, efficiency and outcomes, including unwanted variation in inequalities.
This will enable mobilisation and delivery of Acute Collaborative strategic priorities including;
- Acute Clinical Service Recovery aligned to unequal access and experience driving out variation in quality, efficiencies, and access.
- Acute Productivity reducing variation and supporting the ICS financial sustainability and alignment to GIRFT and wider opportunities in community provision
- Sharing of best practice aligned to care integration at both Place and between varying health care populations
- Exploration of centres of excellence including HVLC and GIRFT opportunities
- Set Strategic direction for Economies of scale
- Influence and shape strategic commissioning pipeline specifically linked to elective recovery
Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for commissioning NHS services on behalf of people in Coventry and Warwickshire. In consultation with local partners, it plans the delivery of services in a way that both meets local health and care needs and reduces inequalities between different groups. The purpose of our ICB is to bring partner organisations together to:
1. improve outcomes in population health and healthcare
2. tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access
3. enhance productivity and value for money
4. help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
As an Integrated Care System we have agreed a common vision as well as the principles of how partners will work together. This is underpinned by the Health and Wellbeing Concordat for Coventry and Warwickshire.
This Concordat was agreed by our two Health and Wellbeing Boards and sets out our goal to enable people across Coventry and Warwickshire to pursue happy, healthy lives and put people and communities at the heart of everything we do.
Our vision is more than just an aspiration, it is the driver for real change across Coventry and Warwickshire.
**The post holder will be responsible for**:
Management of the development of a Coventry and Warwickshire Acute services workplan, and an associated investment profile.
The System Lead will work collaboratively with several Provider, Commissioner and Network organisations in relation to Acute service configuration to facilitate and influence transformation, redesign delivery, innovation and leadership.
Oversight and management of all aspects of the Acute Provider Collaborative including potential investment programmes and associated business planning across ICS.
Evaluate, interpret and locally implement opportunities developed by clinicians collaboratively across the ICS, leading key activities for service improvement, pathway redesign and any other associated opportunities. Challenge ways of working through effective, motivational, and influencing skills supporting colleagues to align their practice where necessary.
Work with clinical staff in developing appropriate changes in clinical practice exploring transformational options including digital, estates, workforce and other transformational plans, ensuring the best outcomes for patients.
Develop effective partnerships with senior clinical and non-clinical staff helping to create an environment within which all staff working across organisational boundaries have the opportunity to influence, transformation and development of services.
Work closely with the System Leads for all transformational programmes including Cancer, Diagnostics, elective, clinical networks and digital programmes to ensure that there is alignment to operational delivery, planning and transformation programmes within these portfolios with regards to work undertaken by both workstreams and that resource and effort is effectively deployed once.
