WorkwithYork are working with our Local Authority client to recruit a temporary qualified social work Service Manager with experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.

This is a temporary, full time assignment, for an initial 4 months. For this hybrid role there is some flexibility about exact working arrangements, but you will be expected to be in the York office at some point in every week.

Pay is competitive, paid weekly using our online timesheet system, you will also accrue holiday pay and we have a workplace pension scheme.

This role involves:

- Leadership of a team of social workers and review managers, including providing support and supervision;
- Managing complex and unstable cases and provide professional advice and support to help reduce backlog of reviews;
- Overseeing the overall implementation of care plans;
- Undertaking crisis care management and adult protection investigations and other 'Appropriate Adult’ duties;
- Supporting with budget mitigations.

You will:

- Be a qualified social worker with current SWE registation;
- Have good and relevant leadership/management experience;
- Have experience of working with adults with complex needs arising from their learning disabilities;
- Be organised and a great communicator enabling you to work well under pressure;
- Prioritise activities whilst driving forward service level and practice improvements.
