Learning Disability Nurse Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Learning Disability Nurse Specialist. As part of our multi-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Teams, you will work with adults with learning disabilities who have complex physical and emotional health needs. Our focus is on providing alternative care to in-patient settings, working towards the transforming care agenda. You will be responsible for supporting individuals in their own homes, promoting independence and self-advocacy. This role requires a genuine desire to improve the mental health and well-being of adults with learning disabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality secondary care and enhance community services using trauma-informed care and recovery-based approaches.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, and other professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide assessment, advice, and support to clients, carers, and other professionals.
Person Specification:
- Current professional registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (RNMH or RNLD).
- Recognized as a practice assessor/mentor or working towards it within 6 months. Trained Clinical Supervisor within 6-month probationary period.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is £30,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience. A trust car lease scheme is also available.
