Analytical Development Manager

Are you a driven and motivated individual with senior level experience and an excellent knowledge of analytical techniques for protein characterisation within a Biologics discipline? An opportunity is now available to become an **Analytical Development Manager** with a Biologics company based in Teesside.
As an **Analytical Development Manager,** you will manage a team of staff by providing technical expertise to deliver work to the necessary standard. You will lend your expertise to medium and large-scale complex projects, utilising your knowledgeand experience to communicate with stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation. As manager you will strive to offer innovative solutions to accelerate the development of the business, identifying and addressing the needs of the team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain compliance to all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental, GMP, data integrity and quality requirements.
- Management activities including:
- Planning of all objectives, short to long term.
- Setting team and individual objectives. Identifying and conducting performance reviews, providing training where needed, ensuring expectations are met.
- Conduct meetings and one-to-one sessions where needed, acting as a point of contact for all staff.
- Identify technical developments and trends, generating innovative ideas and strategies from this.
- As the technical lead in projects, be primary contact for clients/partners.
- Utilise expertise to deliver business plans into action plans to develop business.
- Build and maintain a wide network of business partners, customers, research organisations, stakeholders, and authorities. Representing the company as an expert. Seeking out business development.
- Keep team up to date with necessary external developments and legislative/regulatory developments.
- Generate and present solutions to stakeholders, using expertise and contemporary knowledge to provide advice.
- Engage in hazard/SRA studies. Provide documented records of technical data, methods, calculations, and software.
- Technical leadership of multidisciplinary project teams focused on the development of therapeutic biologic manufacturing processes, with expertise and contribution to product formulation and analytical method development.
- Document writing, data interpretation, presentation, and statistical analysis.
- Application of experimental design and statistical concepts to experimental planning.
- Knowledge of bioprocessing industry and cGMP concepts.
- Significant theoretical knowledge and practical experience of the design, verification, and utilisation of analytical methods for analysis of in process and final product biologics, encompassing both quality and stability measures.
- Track record in supporting process teams in process development through provision of timely analytical support and advice.
**About You**:
- Educated to a minimum of BSc level in a relevant scientific discipline, with extensive industrial experience at a Senior level.
- Be a confident and flexible leader of staff.
- Focused on future business development and up to date with technical and business-related trends within the industry.
- Effective communicator, encouraging staff to achieve their goals and targets, with the ability to adapt to specific needs and situations.
- Adept at building and maintaining relationships with staff, stakeholders, and business associates. Negotiating effectively and skilfully in all situations.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of analytical techniques such as: PCR, ELISA, UPLC/HPLC, SDS-PAGE, qPCR, electrophoresis (capillary), sub-particle analysis and cIEF.
- Take responsibility and the initiative during complex technical activities to generate innovative solutions. Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams.
- Effective in professionally conducting analytical techniques displaying a mastery, as well as managing a team to develop as a whole and individually.
- Exemplary knowledge of all relevant regulatory and quality guidelines.
