**About the role**:
The British Museum is seeking a Project Curator: Santo Domingo Centre of Excellence for Latin American Research to join the AOA department. The main purpose of this role is to work as part of the Santo Domingo Centre of Excellence for Latin American Research to support SDCELAR research fellows and research affiliates in their collaborative BM research projects and improve the documentation and digitisation of the British Museum collections.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- Develop digital communication strategies for SDCELAR, including the production of online content, management of digital platforms and creation of multimedia outputs for SDCELAR’s online presence and public outreach
- Conduct and support research centred around the Latin America and Caribbean collections at the British Museum in collaboration with local communities in the region under the direction of SDCELAR
- Support SDCELAR’s projects, as well as its researchers and collaborators with digital and audiovisual research methods, components and outputs
- Lead on upgrading the documentation of the Latin American and Caribbean collections based on Centre’s research outputs and own knowledge and research expertise

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, the postholder will have a BA or BSc (or equivalent) or a higher degree in a relevant field such as digital humanities or anthropology, and will have advanced written and spoken Spanish. Prior experience with digital platforms, website management, content creation, and social media is essential. Multimedia content production and audio/video editing is highly desirable. The postholder will be equipped with proficiency in MS office, have good organizational and time management skills and prior experience in research. It is helpful to have prior publications in peer reviewed journals.

Working with a variety of stakeholders, the postholder will have excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Spanish, ability to be an effective team member, demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work well in an environment with many competing priorities.
