**About the role**:
To support the_ Samurai _exhibition project team, working closely with the Lead Curator in the development and delivery of the exhibition and publication.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- To work as a core member of the Project Team, assisting the Lead Curator and Project Manager and liaising with other key internal stakeholders, including Collection Projects & Resources, Learning and National Partnerships, Loans, Marketing, Communications, Advancement, Visitor Services, Operations and BM Company.
- To manage and file project documentation and correspondence; to obtain necessary information on loans (dimensions, special condition requirements, credit lines and copyright) through liaison with lenders and international and departmental loans officers.
- To manage and update a digital list of objects and images.
- To track and monitor the movement of BM objects for the exhibition between departments (such as Conservation and Photography).
- To assist the Lead Curator with research on the history of the samurai in Japan and their representations and appropriations both in Japan and globally.

**About you**:

- High proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and in managing digital imagery.
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
- Good writing, proofing and editing skills.
- Organisational skills, particular attention to details and accuracy
- Assessing priorities and meeting deadlines. Adaptable, resourceful, imaginative
- Excellent team player; thrives on challenge.
- Diplomatic, strong communication skills at all levels.
