Carer Support Wiltshire is a registered charity (Charity no: 1092762) that supports all unpaid carers, from five years upwards, in Wiltshire and Dorset. Our aim is to create a society which understands and supports unpaid carers. We operate in Dorset under the name Carer Support Dorset.

We help carers to access services, information, education and training, respite, and breaks from their caring role. We ensure they have a voice that is heard and work with health and social care professionals and employers to raise carer awareness and develop best practice.

We work towards a future where:

- Unpaid carers have better health and well-being.
- Unpaid carers can make choices about their caring role and access the right support and services for the person they care for.
- Unpaid carers needs, their voices and the contribution they make to society are recognised and valued.

**Purpose of the post**
- To work with the Head of Communications & Engagement to develop and implement a programme of activities and engagement events for carers and key stakeholders across Wiltshire.
- To help position Carer Support Wiltshire as a centre of excellence for unpaid carers.
- To build awareness of Carer Support Wiltshire amongst carers and key stakeholders through our events programme.
- Work with the operations and young carer teams to ensure we are developing events and activities that fulfil carers’ needs.
- Work with the communications team to promote our events programme.
- Support the Head of Communications & Engagement to ensure all carer activities and engagement events are consistent and coordinated across CSW and in line with our strategic plan.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of our online and in-person events in Wiltshire. This includes scheduling, liaising with health professionals and facilitators, managing the booking process, event administration and stewardship of attendees, ensuring smooth running of the events, and following up/evaluating post-event.
- Liaise with colleagues to collect carer feedback on our events programme in order to ensure it is fulfilling carer needs.
- Take the lead in organising, planning, and, where applicable, running of:

- Carers Week (annually)
- Christmas events
- Carers Rights Day (annually)
- Summer activities program (Young carers and adult carers)
- School activities holiday program (Young carers)
- Carer engagement events
- Work with colleagues across the charity to promote our events to ensure our local community know about and can attend our events and that we reach new audiences both on and offline.
- Work closely with the community services team to create resources to enable them to raise awareness in the Wiltshire community through engaging with:

- Local and county-wide retailers
- Business
- Local clubs e.g., leisure, specific interest groups
- Healthcare organisations including GP’s, pharmacies etc.
- Religious and faith-based organisations.
- Work closely with the comms team to develop and edit content about our events programme for our roster of external digital and print newsletters.
- Liaise with, and provide support to, external organisations offering services to carers, with a focus on sustainable positive activities and groups.
- Proactively seek new opportunities to promote our events programme.
- Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of all contacts and ongoing actions required on Charitylog and other reporting systems so as to collect statistical information for monitoring and evaluation purposes and prepare progress reports.
- Support communication and engagement plans to grow carer engagement and alignment with CSW’s values and mission.
- Working with the comms team, help to produce and maintain a library of event images.
- Help to build and maintain strong relationships with all teams to ensure their commitment and support of carer activities and engagement events.
