The key responsibilities of the post is to manage and implement the administrative service to the children looked after health team, using a wide range of skills and experience that reflects the confidential and sensitive nature of the post. Maintain and Develop procedures to ensure an efficient and effective service. Communication is a key feature of the post. To successfully undertake the principle responsibilities outlined below, the postholder must communicate and work in partnership with a number of individuals, organisations and agencies and ensure statutory timescales are met.

The postholder will support and work with the Children Looked After Health team to manage appointments and process Statutory Initial and Review Health Assessment Process and support the Medical Advisor for adoption and fostering for Children Looked After.
- Offer dedicated administrative support for the Named Nurse and Designated Doctor Children Looked After and Care Leavers.
- Act as first point of contact for the Medical Advisor and the Adoption and Fostering Service which includes social workers/team manager.
- Have the responsibility to manage the Health Assessment Process for Children Looked After, ensure all newly Children Looked After are registered on the system and an initial health assessment is carried out within statutory timescale, in partnership with partner agencies for children placed in and out of area.
- Manage and work with the nursing team and named nurse to monitor the statutory health assessment process with other members of the health team including managing health assessment due dates, appointments for nurses and liase with the service users and other health teams both in and out of the area.
