**Are you passionate about providing excellent service to older people?**
Age UK Hertfordshire is an independent local charity working to improve the lives of older people. We care passionately about supporting older people and are looking for two coordinators who share our aims.
Our Information and Advice Team can help older people across Hertfordshire with a range of issues including help with claiming benefits, Lasting Powers of Attorney, IT skills, housing options, leisure activities and much more. You will be providing information and advice to older people both on the Information and Advice Line and in the community to deliver the I&A Service and the Hertswise dementia support project.
The roles involve working at our Head Office in Hertford as well as community outreach, to ensure information and advice is easily accessible to older people.
This will include responding to enquiries made by telephone or in person, researching, and providing information to other relevant agencies. You will need to monitor and report on the service, ensuring that all enquiries and their responses are recorded in accordance with our procedures.
You will need to keep up to date on the issues affecting older people and you will support volunteers to help further information and advice provision.
**Your skills**:
- Experience of providing a service to the public
- Experience of working with older people
- Experience of delivering projects
- Experience of collecting statistical information
- The ability to deliver information and advice (including benefit advice)
- Knowledge of social care
- Good organisational and communication skills
You will also need a full driving licence with use of a car.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll directly impact the lives of local older people and you will be joining a committed and supportive team.
