Net Zero Carbon Project Officer

**28 hours per week. (some evening work/weekend work required - time off in lieu given for this)**

**£25,224.36 (FTE £31,530.45) per annum plus employer pension contribution of 8.5%, Life Assurance, Employee Benefits Package including EAP. 25 days annual leave (pro rata), plus 3 additional diocesan days set annually, plus statutory bank holidays.**

**Contractual Location is the Coventry Diocesan Offices, with some travel required across Coventry and Warwickshire, including to areas difficult to reach via public transport**

**This role is a fixed term contract until December 2025 which is fully funded by the national church’s capacity fund.**

Coventry Diocese is committed to working towards the Church of England’s aim of achieving net zero carbon by 2030. This ambitious target covers several focus areas including Churches, Church of England schools, clergy housing, work-related travel and the diocesan offices. We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Net Zero Carbon Project Officer with the skills and experience to develop and implement our net zero carbon action plan.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

- Working with parishes to develop and implement their net zero action plans.
- Further promoting the eco church scheme across the diocese
- Overseeing emissions data reporting and producing a variety of progress reports
- Training and supporting local environmental champions.

To achieve this, we are looking for someone with experience within the carbon reduction / sustainability sector. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, report writing and stakeholder engagement. We are looking for someone who can communicate well with a range of audiences, including the ability to explain technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
