Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire; the Hydrant Programme provides support for the work of the NPCC child protection and abuse investigation (CPAI) portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to join us. We are looking for an Executive Programme Officer to join the team

The Executive Programme Officer role provides effective and proactive support to the Director and Deputy Director and when required the wider Senior Management Team to enable effective and efficient strategic planning, project coordination and collaboration with other NPCC areas of business. This role works with the Programme Director (budget holder) and Senior Accountant to manage the Hydrant Programme grant allocations and ensure the efficient operation of the programme.

You will have line management responsibility for the Administration Assistant and oversee the administrative function and finance transactions. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in being part of a team that is supporting police nationally to respond to child abuse, exploitation and vulnerability.

This is a Hybrid/Homeworking role, with a requirement to travel and work at other establishments nationally as may be reasonably required. There will be an expectation for occasional overnight stays. Travel and expenses will be reimbursed in line with police staff council conditions of service. If you are working from London, London weighting will apply.

- Demonstrate success within a management or supervisory level role, building team engagement, managing competing priorities and coordinating the work of others to deliver high quality work to demanding timescales.
- Considerable experience of working in a confidential environment with personal responsibility for handling sensitive information observing strict levels of confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include effective report writing and presentation skills and an ability to articulate issues.

- Experience of organising meetings involving internal and external partners, including managing the agenda, preparation and distribution of relevant papers and recording of actions/minutes.

- Knowledge of the broader activities of the Police Service
- Knowledge and experience of project planning and methodologies - Prince 2 or equivalent

Hours of work are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, the working pattern is negotiable. The post is offered on a fixed term basis, reviewed on annually by the 1st of April each year. This role is currently grant funded until 31/03/24.
