Our client is headquartered in in the Republic of Ireland and is one of Europe’s leading transport, logistics and warehousing companies, the business operates offices, depots, warehouses and maintenance facilities throughout Europe. The business employeesin excess of 1000 employees, operates a fleet of 2700 asset owned transport units and transports in excess of 100,000 freight loads annually.

The company services a wide range of industries including FMCG customers, leading retailers, food & drink manufacturers, paper and building material specialists.

They are seeking a Chief Executive officer to drive and develop the business in line with ambitious growth plans.

- Proven experience as a CEO or MD for a Transport Haulage, Logistics or Warehousing operation
- Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working In Transport, Warehousing or related Management role
- Have a degree or equivalent in Logistics Managements, Business Management or related discipline
- Proven experience of managing P&L and budgets
- Can demonstrate the ability to improve efficiencies within large haulage and logistics operations
- Have strong proven leadership skills and be able to demonstrate team leadership, motivation, coaching and the day-to-day management of a team; including performance reviews and staff appraisals.
- Demonstrate responsibility for delivering on a business plan and its objectives including the management of all resources and costs.
- Have experience of day-to-day reporting and accountability to senior management as well as the business owner.
- Possess a positive, can do attitude and the ability to go the extra mile to get the job done correctly and on time.
- Ability to work to deadlines and great attention to detail.
- Have experience managing contractors and other 3rd parties, ensuring all standards around health and safety and quality are observed.
- Excellent IT and Computer Skills - including Microsoft Office and other relevant software packages.
- Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated
- Be customer focused and passionate about delivering a first class customer experience.
- Have experience planning and allocating work in order to maximise the efficient use of resources, with an objective to minimise overtime.
- Be well organised and possess excellent presentation and communication skills, both written & oral.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Working closely with and reporting to the Owner/Director - you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business, including the commercial direction and performance of the business.
- Develop and deliver on a 5 year growth & development plan to meet the owner’s ambitions for the business.
- Identify strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions to grow both revenue and profit.
- Manage the onsite team of office, garage and warehouse staff including the senior management team - with responsibility for recruitment, selection, training and performance management.
- Ensure staffing, vehicle and equipment levels are in keeping with the operational needs and financial goals of the business.
- Operate the facility in full compliance on all matters such as health and safely standards, quality standards and in keeping with the goals of the owners. This responsibility will include the overseeing of regular audits of all agreed standards.
- Deliver an outstanding customer service experience and build a first class reputation for quality and excellence.
- Deal with all operational issues that arise from time to time and resolve all matters to the satisfaction of our customers and the owners.
- Monitor the operation of the business and provide input for continuous improvements to systems, scheduling and manpower planning - especially around periods of exceptional or seasonal demands.
- Manage all housekeeping matters - including overall responsibility for the site, its equipment and vehicles.
- Manage the work of all external contractors - undertaking work at the facility.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports and updates to the Owner/Director.
