**Fox & Edwards Events is hiring a Business & Visitor Support Officer Join us for interesting and varied work that gives our visitors a fantastic experience to remember.**
Are you looking for a job with a difference? Keen to support a growing small business run by enthusiastic people? Want a combination of home-working and on-site activities?
**About Us**:
Fox & Edwards Events was established in 2019 by Olly & Julie to deliver events and experiences that encourage visitors to embrace heritage visitor attractions.
Since then, we have been operating steam train trips on heritage railways throughout the UK. We currently work with ten railways from Derbyshire to Kent and Dorset providing a variety of journey options such as fish and chips, cream tea, character events and more.
Our trips are growing in popularity and so we are looking for additional support to ensure that visitors get the best possible experience. We are looking for a Visitor & Business Support Officer to help us in several key areas:
- Preparing for journey days - for example ordering goods
- Leading and supporting journey days on-the-ground at heritage railways.
**About You**:
You’ll be:
- Keen like us to provide the best experiences for visitors.
- Well organised, reliable and presents positively.
- Good with IT / Microsoft Office.
- A great team player who demonstrates initiative and is able to work alone to complete tasks well and on-time.
- Calm under pressure, positive and flexible. You’ll consider yourself someone who gets ‘stuck in’ with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Able to work from home and to lead/support regular journey days on-the-ground at heritage railways / other venues. Note that these will be typically at weekends.
We’re really looking forward to hearing about you and why you’d be interested in this role. We’re more than happy to talk through / discuss any details about the role.
We will give full training about our systems, processes and journeys. You do not have to be a railway enthusiast to be good at this role
**Key Information**:
- A typical week will involve working from Monday to Friday at home, answering calls and enquiries. We have some flexibility on hours each day. We are looking to achieve regular hours between 8am and 6pm - which we will set by mutual discussion early in the period so that we can clearly display these on our website.
- Some weekend work will be required. It is anticipated that an average of 2-3 weekend days per month will be required on either/both Saturdays and Sundays. These are set in advance at the Company’s discretion. In these cases, office hours will be adjusted to reflect weekend work.
- Predominantly home working. The regular on-site work will be at heritage railways in Derbyshire and the Midlands. Independent travel will be required.
- On an event day, elements of this role include meeting and greeting visitors, considerable time on your feet, rubbish collection and walking through moving trains.
- £18720 (30 hours) or £21840 (35 hours) equating to £12 per hour, paid evenly over twelve monthly payments.
- Three £50 gift vouchers (birthday, Christmas and anniversary of joining the company) are provided to each team member.
