Job Overview

This is a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Access to Information legislation and Information Governance practices. As a Business Services Officer, you will play a critical part in handling information access requests, including those under the Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation, Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), and Subject Access Requests (SAR). Your timely responses will be essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the department's response to information requests
  • Advising and supporting colleagues on compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation
  • Educating colleagues on their duties related to Access to Information issues and providing guidance on the relevant regulations
  • Assisting in Council project work by conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, drafting Sharing Agreements, and creating Privacy Notices
