Customer Service Representative

Working within the Customer service department most of your time will be spent taking calls from our customers, absorbing what they tell you and then providing the right information. They could be worried about measuring their floor, which product is best to suited to their needs or perhaps they need help tracking their delivery.
Don’t worry if you have no knowledge of the flooring industry as we will provide you with product training and knowledge which will ensure you’re well prepared to take calls from our customers about anything and everything. It’s a fun, fast-moving environment where we recognise a job well done and, as our people will tell you, it feels good to represent a company that aims to provide a high level of customer service. Unlike some contact centre jobs, there is no pressure to sell. All you need to do is to provide a positive and accurate service - one that represents Flooring Direct at its very best.
Let’s talk about what skills you’ll need to be able to do the job:
We’re looking for people who are good listeners, pay strong attention to detail and have good computer literacy skills. As it is a fast paced environment, the ability to resolve one query and move quickly onto the next is important. This role is on a set on standard hours of 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and we work a rota system to cover evenings until 7pm as well as a scheduled Saturday and bank holidays.
As Customer Service Advisor your key competencies will include:

- Demonstrate self-control and react positively when working in difficult situations and under pressure.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, able to spot inaccurate information and inconsistencies.
- Identifies issues, generates workable solutions, and makes rational judgements. **Ability to listen effectively and gathers all relevant information by questioning, probing, empathising.**:
- The ability to work well in a team, sharing knowledge, being supportive and team spirited.
