Junior Clinical Coders (Band 3 remote/hybrid/on site roles dependent upon experience/qualifications).

As a Clinical Coder at University Hospital Birmingham, you will be joining an evolving, dedicated and hard-working team whose role is to abstract and analyse clinical information from electronic source documents and translate into diagnostic (ICD 10) and operative procedure codes (OPCS 4.9), adhering to national coding standards and conventions. Inputting the data on to the Trust's patient information system in a timely manner, meeting departmental targets and the Trust's financial and reporting commitments.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
We are looking for intermediate coders who have attended a NHSD Standards Course. You will have the opportunity to study for, and achieve, the Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) qualification which will be supported by our junior coding development programme. Successful completion of a department exam will result in progression to Band 4.

Previous attendance on Clinical Coding Standards Course is essential.
