Band 3 Dietetic Assistant

Two Band 3, 1.0WTE, Dietetic Assistants in Healthcare for Older People and Trauma.
An opportunity has arisen for two dietetic assistants to work either within the Older People and Acute Medicine wards, based in the Heritage site or on the Trauma wards of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. These acute wards are managed by a strong multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, specialist nurses, social workers, palliative care services and liaison psychiatry.
The successful individuals will be involved in the dietetic assessment and treatment of a variety of patients within these specialty areas under the guidance of the Dietitians.
There will also be opportunities to become competent in measuring a range of anthropometry.
The applicant must have skills, knowledge and experience of caring for people who are malnourished and dehydrated in a busy, acute NHS hospital.
Being flexible, patient-centred, managing a caseload and accurate record-keeping are essential.
**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The successful individuals will take on a valuable role in supporting the assessment and treatment of a variety of patients so the applicants will ideally have experience with dealing with members of public, be able to demonstrate good communication skills along side an interest in food + nutrition and improving health and wellbeing.
