Job description-Early Years Educator

Communication

Posting on Famly news feed activities you are carrying out, what families can try at home and sharing with your team each day. Read and respond to all team communications sent out Following the scripts set for communication processes this includes enquiries,taking phone messages, parent queries around nursery life.

Deliver 5 childcare

Quality activities planned and carried out each session with child intention planned for. Handovers are warm, welcoming and informative with one 5 rating per week from families. Keeping interest sheets up to date and delivering activities from them Children's learning and development plans, Planning key-groups and learning intentions. Assessment and tracking done for each key child within the month of their birthday within the 30 day allocated slot. To do mindfulness activities with children every session to build their emotional resilience. Child's learning journey sheet kept up to date

Maintaining the Environment

Keeping the room clean, tidy and free from hazards, Upkeeping the garden is clean, safe and accessed 80% of the day Helping to keep all common areas clean and tidy, put orders away and report any maintenance issues

Managing accidents, incidents and behaviour management

Children are comforted, first aid administered and appropriate form, completed and signed by family collecting with notification via phone call when appropriate inform parents and follow up Offer support to family or child as and when needed.

Client relationships

Greeting all families and offering to help if required. Discussing with families any queries or questions. Answering the phone to any messages and sharing with relevant person Key person relationships. Taking minimum of one observation per week. Settling child and family into nursery.

Carry out personal care

such as nappies and sleep. Making sure child has everything they need such as bottle tags, coat peg,place mat Adding families on social media and sharing pictures of their child with them regularly.
