An rare opportunity has arisen for a trainee medical photographer to join the Medical Photography Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The role of the successful postholder is to join the photography team to provide both clinical and non-clinical photography services to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Photography and videography will be undertaken on location in wards, clinics, and theatres alongside our photographic studio. We work closely with other health professionals across the Trust to provide a high quality, reliable and professional service.

We work from both written and verbal briefs and it is important to communicate effectively with both clinicians and patients. You need to communicate with patients and relatives in a considerate and appropriate manner, especially as we often photograph distressed patients or in emotive situations.

The job requires a good level of physical fitness, strength, stamina and flexibility. There is a regular requirement for walking, carrying equipment and working in sometimes awkward and confined positions.

You will be a contributing member of the team and as such will be expected to attend and contribute to staff meetings, participate in mandatory training alongside the Post Graduate Qualification requirements, ensure skills are updated regularly through appraisal and further training, comply with Health and Safety standards and Infection Control requirements. You must always maintain confidentiality of patients and the service and observe all department protocols.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 24 months due to this being an apprenticeship/training programme. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts.

**Additional Salary details**: Trainees will be paid 70% of the top of AfC5 pay scale during the first 12 months and then 75% of the top of AfC5 pay scale for the final 12 months of the training program
