**Job summary**:
The Levelling Up Major Programmes directorate sits in the Regeneration Group in the Department for Levelling up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). Together with our sister directorate, Community Investment and Funding Services, we are responsible for a portfolio of levelling up programmes worth over £38bn.

Our primary purpose is to deliver funding programmes which are at the heart of the Government’s ambitious UK wide levelling up agenda, empowering local government to drive growth and improve living standards. The £4.8bn Levelling Up Fund which this team is responsible for sits alongside other complementary Funds managed by the directorate including the £3.6bn Towns Fund and £2.6bn UKSPF. Together these programme teams aim to ensure our investment and regeneration priorities deliver meaningful change that improve people's everyday lives.

Through our work, we aim to deliver a step change in user experience for ministers and grant recipients to ensure we deliver best value and learn from what works. As one of the Government’s major projects this means delivering to the highest standards providing ministers and our Accounting Officer with a high degree of assurance. This means delivering exemplary governance, performance, and risk management, and tightly managing programme finances. Robust monitoring and evaluation is a bedrock of our assurance and directly informs future programme design.

This is an exciting time to join the LUF Delivery team. You will have the opportunity to work in a high-profile area with significant interest from stakeholders such as Secretary of State, HMT and No.10. Collectively our work will help demonstrate the impact of LUF programme, strengthen our evidence base to improve future policy making and programme design, and enhance Monitoring & Evaluation capability and governance throughout the group.
