CoMoUK is looking for an experienced Project and Delivery Officer to play an active role in community and partnershipdevelopment. It is a rare opportunity to work in a sector which is at the cutting edge of sustainable transportand gain a variety of experience. The role will involve providing support towards establishing and supportingcommunity shared transport across a range of projects, including our Low Emission Zones project and pop-upmobility hubs.

The successful applicant will be based at home with guidance and support from the Head of Programmes. There will befrequent project meetings and activities in the field as well as opportunities to meet with the small andfriendly CoMoUK team.

Co-produce impactful projects, services, and campaigns that amplify lived experience, transform attitudes, and leadtoward meaningful change in local communities in the West of Scotland and for over 12,500 peers acrossScotland.

Establish and maintain a network of youth forums in Helensburgh, West Dunbartonshire, and Lomond. Promote and developactive involvement to reach and support greater numbers from early learning settings and with additional supportneeds (ASN).

Some of the essentials we are looking for in candidates

A relevant qualification, to a minimum standard of HNC/SVQ 3 (SCQF level 7) in a discipline related to working withchildren and young people, or equivalent work experience.

Ideally, you will have experience working with children in Early Years settings.

You will also need a minimum of two years’ experience working in youth work, community, or education settings, aswell as demonstrate knowledge of co-production, child protection, participatory decision-making, and muchmore.

We have three 12 month, fixed term contract opportunities within our Knowledge and Learning team within the ScotlandDirectorate.

These are exciting opportunities to join our small team as a Knowledge and Learning Officer, working on a variety ofprojects to provide informed insight on a range of grant-making themes.

As part of our Knowledge and Learning Team here in Scotland, you will work alongside Funding, and Communication andEngagement teams, as well as Knowledge and Learning colleagues across the UK. The role is flexible and varied,responding to the needs of colleagues and stakeholders to lend research or policy expertise, facilitatingengagement events and sharing findings and recommendations.

A key aim of this work is to gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from our funding programmes and thepolicy landscape to shape funding decisions and priorities.

You will be able to see the ‘bigger picture’ of our grant-making work and apply creative approaches to identify andembed learning across geographic and thematic areas.

You will have sound critical thinking, thematic analysis and research skills and an ability to convey effective,impactful information for a variety of audiences.

You will be sensitive to ethics in research design and implementation.

As part of the role you will host and facilitate learning events, both in person and online, and therefore you’llhave sound facilitation and networking skills. Occasionally you will have the opportunity to work withgrant-holders, external partners and other funders, requiring excellent communication and relationship-buildingskills.

You will be collaborative in nature and enjoy working proactively and in partnership with colleagues across the fund.An open, supportive and flexible team working approach is necessary.

You will be adept at managing a busy and varied workload.

You will often be responding to short notice requests for information and guidance, while balancing longer termresearch/report writing and presentation.

You will be curious to explore and test new ideas and ways of working, to ensure our funding reaches those atgreatest need. As such an awareness of public policy, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and participationmethods would be useful.

Familiarity with digital communication tools would be advantageous.

Location: This role is based in our Glasgow office, however we have a flexible, hybrid approach to working. The rolewill entail occasional travel and potentially overnight stays. Should you have a question on work pattern,please ask.

Experience of gathering and sharing evidence to inform learning, including applying qualitative research methods andtechniques.

Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience of holding discussions that enable a range of people toshare and discuss ideas.

Excellent report writing skills, and an ability to present information in an engaging and creative way.

A supportive, and responsive, team player with experience of working collaboratively and in partnership to deliverobjectives.

An understanding of quantitative research methods, and how they can be used to support qualitative analysis ofdata.

Familiarity with digital tools that support and enhance how information is captured and conveyed.

Relationship management skills and ability to develop a range of stakeholders and networks to widen the reach of yourwork.

Knowledge or awareness of the context of the third sector, and key policy and contextual trends which impactcommunities across Scotland and the UK.

The Volunteering Officer will work with the Chief Executive and the wider team to encourage and support volunteeringat Green Hive, coordinating, administering and developing the current volunteer pool (numbering nearly 200people), and leading on the recruitment, induction and deployment of new volunteers for different roles acrossthe organisation - including at Seaman’s Hall in Nairn, our Community Workshop and in support of outdooractivities programming.

Context: Launched in 2015, Green Hive (formally Nairn River Enterprise) is a community hub and acharity that specialises in volunteer-led projects and other initiatives, helping to conserve, restore andsustainably develop the natural habitats and public amenities of Nairn and Nairnshire, while cultivating skillsand employability and improving outcomes for residents and visitors. Over the last decade the organisation hasdeveloped a suite of core business operations that focus on reducing pollution and waste, recycling and re-usingdiscarded man-made materials and promoting more positive interactions with the local environment. It has donethis while gradually consolidating its own financial position in support of longer-term organisationalsustainability. Recent investment from the Postcode Innovation Trust takes us to the next level, and a dedicatedVolunteering Officer will be key to our plans for growth and diversification. In November 2022 Green Hive tookownership of Seaman’s Hall in the Fishertown precinct of Nairn; over the last year it has been developing publicprogrammes aimed at re-establishing this important historic building as a community hub. We are also formulatingcapital development plans for the facility. We're looking for a Senior Project Officer, to work in our Innovation and Practice team and support exemplary,agile project management across Involve.

This is an exciting time to join the Involve team. Alongside increasing public and political interest in ourapproaches, we are increasing the size and impact of our project work. We have a couple of new multifacetedprojects which need really effective and agile project management. As a Senior Project Officer you willcontribute to all aspects of our delivery, with a particular focus on project and programme management of largerprojects. Your main focus will be on:

  • Project management and delivery - core project management and logistics, running onboarding for participants,event management, analysis and reporting, and facilitation
  • Building our project management approachfurther - supporting Involve to build our project management capacity and resources that are appropriate for ourcreative, inclusive processes and culture
  • Project and programme design - working with project teams todesign entire projects and processes which use deliberative, qualitative and participatorymethods
  • Project impact - recording and monitoring how our projects work, the kinds of impacts they have,and the ways they contribute to Involve’s mission.

This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. Our team’s daily work includes settingup, managing, designing, delivering and reporting on a wide range of participatory and deliberative processes,ranging from small scale, hyper-local community engagements to large, national, multi-event Citizens’ Assembliesand longer term projects. Our processes can be face to face, hybrid, or online, and often involve bringingtogether different groups from within the public with interested parties and experts from across government,business , academia and civil society.

In addition, you would work closely with our Capacity Building and Standards team to support their work helpingothers to deliver these approaches and contribute to our communications and advocacy work. You will also supportfundraising for grants and projects, responding to tenders and writing proposals and building relationships withour funders, collaborators and clients.

We are looking for an excellent project manager, able to manage fairly large projects and task manage others at alllevels to ensure smooth delivery. You will be great at managing relationships at all levels and working withothers to get things done. Given the nature of our work we are also looking for public participation skills, orrelevant or transferable expertise and an understanding of deliberative practice. That will enable you to designand deliver project management, and support facilitation that fits our work and enables you to contribute toadvising our clients on designing and delivering effective engagement. It is critical that you are open to newideas, a good team player, committed to shifting power and addressing inequities in our society and that you arepassionate about furthering our vision. Experience of building project management capacity, fundraising andstaff management is desirable.
