**Connect In the North - Information Officer**

**Salary** NJC **Pay Scale Point 19** £25,927 (Pro Rata)**Hours **Part-time (25 hours a week)

**Responsible to-** the Connect in the North Board of Directors.

**Supervised by -** by the Connect in the North Information and Finance Manager

**Duties**

The Information Officer is responsible for providing information and signposting to people with learning disabilities, family carers and other people who support them.

They are responsible for the online presence of the service. They also are responsible for collecting information to put together and write the Through the Maze Newsletter.

They must work in line with priorities, policies and procedures agreed by the Board of Directors. The Information Officer will work according to the values and beliefs of Connect in the North, including policies on equality of opportunity and the involvement of people who use services.

**Providing information and signposting**
- Going to meetings and events to network and gather information also to provide information and signposting
- Collecting information to put together and write the Through the Maze Newsletter
- Getting information from providers and from online networks such as Forum Central, LDE and local authority strategic meetings
- Making sure that the service reaches people with learning disabilities from all sections of the community including people from LGBTQ+ and minority ethnic communities,
- Making sure the service prioritises people without support to access information
- Maintaining links with family carers
- Supporting a small group of employees with learning disabilities to find and share information across the city.

**The Information officer will be responsible for**:
**Social media and other online activity**
- Updating and maintaining the 3 websites
- Updating social media including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and What’s App
- Recording, editing, and uploading short YouTube videos

**Administration**
- Completing monthly reports about information provided and other activity undertaken
- Put information into an accessible format
- Report on website analytics (Specifically Google analytics and Stats Counter)
- Helping with the Through the Maze mailout

**Other responsibilities**
- Making referrals to other organisations when appropriate
- Other responsibilities as agreed with the Connect in the North Board of Directors.

**Salary**: £17,517.50 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
