An Assistant Data Management & GIS Officer is required to join the busy Strategic Planning and Infrastructure team based at 3 Knowsley Place in Bury.

We’re looking for someone to join our busy Strategic Planning and Infrastructure team who has a keen eye for detail, is passionate about data and maps, has good communication skills and can work both independently and as part of a team to meet specific deadlines.

You will perform a wide variety of tasks from the design, development and implementation of Geographical Information Systems (GIS)/database solutions to the collection, input and analysis of data.

The role requires someone who has experience of working with GIS and databases, has a good working knowledge of all MS Office software, and is keen to develop their expertise in data capture and spatial analysis.

Working closely with the Data Management and GIS Officer, you’ll also be involved in online mapping and the creation of new solutions to meet the changing data requirements of the team.

Whilst experience of working within a town planning environment would be an advantage, we are looking for someone with GIS/database skills who can make a positive contribution to meeting the data needs of the team.

An effective communicator, you will be able to respond to technical requests from GIS users and software suppliers alike.

The position is available on a permanent, full-time contract with a current salary range of £24, 294 to £25,979 per annum (Grade 7).

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around a 5-day working week (Monday-Friday).
