Data Architect

Our client stands as a global leader in construction and infrastructure technology that works with government authorities, asset owners, construction companies, and design offices to support their infrastructure projects.
They are seeking a Data Architect on a 12 month contract for their team based in Bury. The role would also require travel to Southam.
The Data Architect will perform a critical role for our new UK ERP deployment of D365 Business Central. This role will bring the necessary technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of our data modelling, given the UK ERP implementation will becomethe new global template for rollout to other regions/countries in subsequent years, ultimately replacing 23 globally diverse ERP’s.
This project requires the Data Architect to assist in the definition, execution, and subsequent management of the DYWIDAG ERP data architecture. The role will involve collaborating with Process Owners and stakeholders to evaluate the current data architectureand identify opportunities for development to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management, in line with the new ERP implementation.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the assessment, data clean up, and integration of Sage Line 50 and Navision 2009 into Microsoft D365 Business Central for the UK business.
- Work with the UK and Regional Leadership to determine the optimal data structure including global Chart of Accounts and Company Organisation Structure for the Global ERP
- Map the new ERP Data Model to incorporate existing data sources, tables and fields, for the migration into Business Central.
- Design, plan and deliver the implementation procedures of the data discovery and migrations to include data cleansing and archiving, with the associated middleware including API's and Microsoft Cloud technologies.
- Identify opportunities for improved data management practices given the broad Microsoft technologies that will be available in Business Central SAAS, middleware and flows given the wide array of apps and third-party tools available in the D365 Apps Marketplace.
- Develop and lead the strategy for migrating data from current state legacy systems to new solutions.
- Guide and advise on how and when data refreshes take place and how changes are managed into the ERP, working closely with the ERP Project Team, Global IT Business Systems Team, Functional Leads and Super Users.
- Understand the structure and functions of the Master Data Management Solution and how to exchange data to maintain master and country level data management and integration.
- Ensure all required specifications documentation is produced and is accepted by the Project Lead, Steering Committee (Change team), the Global IT Business Systems Team and ERP implementation and Support Partners (Run team).
- Lead the process to ensure all appropriate data is test migrated to the new ERP prior to final load and Go-Live (currently estimated to be February 2024).
- Sign-off on post-migration accuracy with business stakeholders and the Project Team before Go-Live of the system.

**Key Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in either computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
