Working within the Outdoor Merchandising Operations Team to develop best in class reporting and business solutions that make a positive difference to the business. This is a hands-on role that balances comprehensive analysis with managing the business reporting developments.

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Manage all aspects of the data analytics pipeline, working with key data experts around the business to understand their business priorities and processes
- Research and Analyse data and underlying performance to provide insights to the business on KPI's and data models
- Collaborate and communicate with end users, collecting, analysing and documenting business functionality, change requests, data requirements and process improvements
- Work with the business users, peers and architects to build roadmaps of Reporting / Data analysis requirements
- Participate in the Design, Development, Testing and Data Development for Outdoor Division including Product & Sales Insights /Range plans / Inventory & Logistical data / Data Modelling Toolsets
- Manage a small team of BI Analysts and assist with coding queries
- Managing the creation of new data products (dashboards, reports, alerts, data models, data extracts, etc)
- Support Outdoor Teams with training on new Reports, knowledge sharing, Insights and reporting systems
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to the Merchandising Team, including optimising forecast accuracy, analysing promotional uplifts and trading patterns
- Develop time estimates for project deliverables and provide accurate and timely management status of work activity
- Learn new software tools and skills as needed and coach the team where required

**Desirable Skills and behaviours**:

- Understanding of data analytics lifecycle, quality and master data management, star schema and snowflake structures
- Oracle database skills, including the ability to write SQL is essential
- An understanding of one or all of these-R Studio/Python/Java/HTML/CSS/VB is essential
- Experience with software engineering practices and information architecture
- Take a hands-on approach to providing solutions for the business
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with associates at all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, organize, and plan work to satisfy established timeframes
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative
- Good personal skills and ability to present complex problems to end users in an appropriate manner
- A good interest in retail, supply chain and business development
- Good management skills and an ability to motivate the team and the wider business community
- Working across multiple teams, contributing to and supporting the analytics community and have good inter-personal relationships

**Preferred experience**:

- Experience of working within a data analytics team
- Hands on experience of data analytics within a retail organisation as a BA, BI developer or data analyst
- Project management experience useful
- Knowledge of Looker and GCP data products
- Understanding of broad data analytics methodologies, data science, data storytelling and data products

**Technical skills**:

- GCP BigQuery / Looker or similar cloud provider
- SQL (Stored procedures, query optimization, etc)
- Python and Java knowledge
- Excel / Word / Office Applications
- MS Project / similar

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or equivalent
