We have a great opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join the Leicester Maternity & Neonatal team. It’s an exciting time to be part of the multiple projects which are pivotal to improving standards of care for all our women and babies throughout their maternity journey.

The Engagement Officer will ensure service users are involved in maternity improvements here at UHL, working closely with system partners and the Maternity Voices Partnership. We are seeking an engagement officer who can support us in a wide range of projects across the maternity & neonatal services.

We believe that voices of all women including those from diverse backgrounds must be heard, with a strong will to ensure that services are designed collaboratively to improve care. Effective communication skills are essential to this role and a creative approach which promotes inclusion.

The post holder will work with colleagues within the organisation and a wide variety of local stakeholder groups to support the implementation of our work streams within the wider maternity quality improvement plan in line with the national Maternity Transformation Programme.

Applicants should have experience of working in an engagement role and the ability to plan and implement public involvement activities. Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders is essential and the ability to speak additional languages would be desirable. You will be supported to develop your skills and achieve in this role, making this an excellent opportunity to enhance your career pathway.

- Working closely with the Quality Improvement team within maternity services and the wider corporate public engagement team
- Building strong and lasting relationships with service users and stakeholders
- Co-production - ensuring women and families are fully involved in the development of services
- Involvement in guideline development
- Production of engagement leaflets and other promotional material
- Highlighting key concerns for certain patient groups to encourage engagement
- Attend internal and external meetings as required, take responsibility for appropriate actions and report back formally to the relevant member(s) of the team.
- Promote coproduction in the maternity services quality improvement programme
