You will be an integral part of a team that plays a crucial role in realizing the vision of University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust to lead in healthcare and earn the trust of the communities we serve. Through narratives, insights, and reflections on the experiences of patients and staff, we strive to enhance the utilization of NHS services and the overall health of the public. Our responsibilities encompass all corporate communications, public relations, social media, website, and intranet activities. Additionally, we have a specialized medical illustration team that provides design and photography services, along with a patient and community engagement team.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will hold primary responsibility for maternity communications, integrated within the communication and engagement department.

The Maternity Communications Lead will devise and execute impactful communication and engagement strategies aimed at enhancing collaboration with maternity professionals and fostering trust within the diverse communities we serve.

Utilizing insights, the Lead will segment and customize our approaches, creating compelling and pertinent communication campaigns for staff, stakeholders, and the public.

Job Responsibilities

Content and Channel Development - Collaborate closely with the broader Communications Team, the Director of Midwifery, and other stakeholders to co-create engaging content, ensuring that maternity staff are kept informed about the latest departmental developments and opportunities for involvement in change initiatives.

Brand Management - Oversee the implementation of the new Trust brand and visual identity within the context of maternity services.

Facilitating Transformation - Work in partnership with colleagues across relevant directorates and key external stakeholders to lead the development of communication plans aimed at enhancing patient experiences and improving the working conditions of maternity staff within #TeamUHL.

Evaluation - Assess reach, impact, and return on investment through both quantitative and qualitative methods to inform future strategies and assist with internal reporting.

Staff Engagement - Collaborate with relevant teams to develop and implement staff engagement plans that address employee needs, exemplify Trust values, and bring maternity improvements to life.

Communication Consultancy - Provide guidance on best practices and utilize our channels to disseminate and promote corporate messages, ensuring the integrity of our communications is maintained and delivery standards are upheld.

Deputizing for the Head of Campaigns - This includes managing communications matters across the spectrum of internal and campaign communications as needed.

On-Call Service - Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota to provide 24/7 communications support for the Trust.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential
