About the Role

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the position of Delivery Suite Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for a midwife to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and challenging clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the delivery suite, including unplanned care and planned care such as induction of labour and elective caesarean pathways.
  • Have oversight of the maternity assessment unit and ante/post natal ward, particularly out of hours.
  • Support junior members of the multi-disciplinary team in their development, including completing appraisals and LCAT assessments.
  • Act as a clinical expert and role model in the area, addressing poor performance and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Liaise with and support other sites and areas where UHL delivers maternity services to establish safe service and improved patient experience provision.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Midwifery or equivalent experience, a recognised teaching/mentoring qualification, and evidence of post-qualification development. They will also have relevant clinical experience in an acute care setting, demonstrating high levels of clinical standard/awareness of patient safety metrics. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to lead a team.
