The Project Delivery function is responsible for providing the right information, at the right time, to support better-informed decisions. Driving accountability, responsibility and efficiency, our Project Controls teams are involved in all phases of everyproject helping to predict and oversee time and cost management.

We are currently looking for a Senior Cost Control Engineer; the post will be a hands-on Cost Control Engineer managing a delivery team within the SDA. This will be a varied position, including working with industry and internal MOD stakeholders. Also buildinga cost engineering capability within the SDA, whilst also providing guidance and being a first point of contact for Cost Control related policy, procedure, questions and queries.

You will be based at the BAE Barrow site. You will be expected to attend the site more frequently initially to familiarize yourselves to the site, the team and position you will be working on in more detail. We operate a hybrid working environment and theexpectation will then be to attend site on average twice a week in accordance with business needs.

**Responsibilities**

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

- Support in developing cost engineering policies and procedures to ensure work is conducted in a consistent and professional manner.
- Review Contractors’ proposals and assesses them against the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO) Guidance for Single Source Contracting.
- Lead and undertake cost analysis reviews at project and programme level.
- To communicate complex project cost data to key members of the project, programme and SDA leadership in a simple and understandable way.
- Lead, guide and coach a team of cost professionals, providing strategic, tactical and policy-lead direction.
- Support in building and sustaining a team of suitably qualified, experienced staff, and identifying development opportunities.

**Person specification**
- Knowledge and utilisation of cost analysis tools and techniques.
- Previous experience leading a team.

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

- Willingness to work towards Professional Accreditation.
