**Job summary**:
There is a new Group Support Administrator post within the Haematology and Oncology Operational Team at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB). The role will provide operational support, including administrative and coordination of services across the specialties. If you thrive working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks and changing priorities, this is the role for you.

The post holder will gain an understanding of the day-to-day delivery of services, work collaboratively with multi-speciality teams, and gain knowledge of performance, governance, quality and insight into service improvement. You will be part of the management team, working alongside the operational team to deliver quality patient care.

The successful post holder should be able to demonstrate a good, foundational knowledge of national NHS targets for Referral to Treatment pathways and Cancer performance targets. Successful applicants will need excellent administration skills, demonstrating initiative and good judgement when managing tasks, working to deadlines and prioritising service needs.

The Haematology and Oncology Operations team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, organised and flexible individual to join the service. The post holder will join a well-developed team and be encouraged in their learning and development. This is an excellent role into a career in healthcare operational management.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration service to the Operations team across Haematology and Oncology at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB), working collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues and stakeholders to provide an efficient operational service.

It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement, using acquired skills and knowledge, to appropriately respond to the changing needs of the specialties, in line with key service development projects and areas for support.

Cross-site working and working from home will also be required.

**Essential**:

- Good General Education (eg. GCSE English and Maths A-C GCSE LEVEL 9-4)
- Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an Administrative environment

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- Experience of working in a Secretarial/ Administrative role with a proven track record of problem solving
- Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- Able to use own initiative and deal with the unpredictable
- Able to work under pressure and to multi-task
- Able to work to deadlines

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Experience of working in Healthcare
