Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC in Corbin, Kentucky in 1938. He started with one restaurant, 11 herbs and spices, and an idea. From there our incredible brand and product grew to what it is today.

**MORE ABOUT THE ROLE**
We are looking for a Safety Specialist who is passionate about doing the right thing, driving a culture of safety and compliance within the business, who will continue to build on our great brand reputation and who can influence across all levels.
Critically, this person will have the ability to turn their technical risk and safety knowledge into practical thinking and operational standards that will continue to help keep our restaurant teams and guests safe.
This role is part of the Risk and Compliance Team, reporting into the Operations Risk and Compliance Lead. The team sits within the wider Restaurant Excellence department, where our priority is running great restaurants. The right person will lead and influence across a variety of projects and workstreams aimed and ensuring food safety is at the forefront of everyone’s thinking.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Ensuring our restaurants maintain high standards across Health & Fire Safety is critical. We have detailed Safety policies in place to guide our restaurants in how to manage Safety. This role would involve you leading on Safety for the business, which would include:
- Regularly reviewing and updating the Health & Fire Safety policies and Risk Assessments as required
- Own and maintain the relationship with our Primary Authorities for Health & Fire Safety, including obtaining assured advice on our policies and processes
- Review relevant legislation, best practice and industry guidance to ensure our policies and processes align
- Supporting with any enforcement or customer contacts relating to Environment, Health & Fire Safety
