**Wood is seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to support our UK projects**

This role is part of a 5-year client contract with a potential 3-year extension, providing a stable and long-term opportunity for growth and development.

The Senior Functional Safety Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and functional leadership for Functional Safety project execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on Functional Safety matters
  • Develop and implement Functional Safety strategies and plans
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with Functional Safety regulations and standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in Functional Safety

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent applicable experience
  • Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution (ideal)
  • Good experience of EPC/MAC, plant operations experience in Process Engineering or Automation & Control Systems within the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries
  • TUV FS Engineer certificate
  • Experience in Brownfield upgrades/replacement automation and control projects
  • Compressor Station/Metering experience is advantageous
  • Maintain familiarity with latest industry developments and predict the impact on company activities
  • Commercially aware
  • Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and diplomacy
  • Inquisitive, well-organized, and have a keen eye for detail
  • Able to operate in an integrated team environment supporting others with a desire and ability to build trust and respect throughout the team
