Scope of Services
The Senior Safety Engineering Specialist will be tasked with delivering comprehensive safety engineering solutions, with the potential to expand services as mutually agreed through contract modifications.
The primary responsibilities during the contract period include:
Lead Engineering Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct safety engineering efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitoring Engineering Hours:
Oversee and manage engineering hours to guarantee project efficiency and budget compliance.
Technical Assessments and Document Verification:
Perform in-depth technical evaluations and checks of project documentation to ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards.
Participation in Meetings:
Engage in lead engineer meetings, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), HAZID (Hazard Identification), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments, and Plot Plan Review sessions.
Client Engagement:
Collaborate with clients to ensure their safety expectations and requirements are thoroughly addressed.
Key Deliverables
The expected deliverables for this role include:
Weekly Project Reports:
Prepare and submit weekly reports outlining project advancements, including resource allocation and timelines.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Plan:
Develop and maintain an HSE plan that details the safety protocols and procedures for the project.
HSE Philosophy:
Establish and document the guiding principles and objectives of the HSE philosophy for the project.
Safety Assessments:
Conduct and document safety assessments to identify potential hazards and formulate mitigation strategies.
Risk Prevention:
Implement strategies aimed at minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Hazard Identification and SIL Evaluation:
Carry out hazard identification and SIL evaluations to assess and manage safety risks.
Required Skills and Experience
Extensive background in safety engineering within the oil and gas sector.
Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to coordinate engineering activities effectively.
Expertise in conducting technical evaluations and ensuring document compliance.
Experience in participating and contributing to safety-focused meetings and reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, Plot Plan Review).
Exceptional communication skills for productive client interactions and report preparation.
Strong organizational abilities to efficiently manage project timelines, resource plans, and deliverables.
Additional Information
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility in work location.
The long-term contract signifies a consistent and ongoing need for safety engineering expertise.
Any additional services or modifications to the scope of work will be discussed and agreed upon through contract amendments.
