We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team at The Pirbright Institute. As a key member of our Central Services Unit, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily cleaning duties, including laboratory cleaning, office cleaning, and maintenance of changing/locker rooms.
- Operate and maintain autoclaves, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Manage laundry services, including collection, washing, drying, pressing, and redistribution of clean laundry.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to The Pirbright Institute's Quality Assurance program and Health & Safety policies.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the effective management of cleaning and laundry operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Previous experience in cleaning and laundry operations, preferably in an industry-based, hospital, or academic environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
