An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Administrator Apprentice to join the Programme Management Office at UHNM. The post holder will work towards achieving a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship education programme. During the apprenticeship the post holder will undertake work based assessments, complete all assignments/projects relating to the Apprenticeship framework and present evidence portfolios for assessment within specified timeframes for apprenticeship accreditation.

The post holder will be assessed throughout the Apprenticeship contract in regard to practice and education and will be expected to complete the essential elements of the apprenticeship within a 18 month time frame.

This role requires you to provide an effective and efficient business administration service to the Programme Management Office. You will need to be a highly motivated and flexible team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever changing environment. The role also requires excellent attention to detail. You will have good IT skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Provide general project administrative and secretarial services when required; including for example meeting arrangements, minute-taking, taking appropriate follow-up action as required, maintaining project files, databases and Project resources, photocopying, scanning, collation of information, mail distribution, preparation of project materials and any other appropriate duties.
- Act as the main point of contact for all enquiries, both in person and by telephone, redirecting patients, members of the public, staff and other service users to relevant person or departments, as/if necessary.
- To prioritise own workload and ensure that work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Responsible for careful use of office equipment, record-keeping/filing, keeping a tidy and secure office and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
- Required to requisition and process requests for travel, accommodation and expenses as part of secretarial duties.
- Guidance to be sought from the relevant Manager when dealing with an area that they are unfamiliar with.
- To support and make suggestions on current administrative procedures to ensure constant improvement in services and be responsible for adapting own practice, as agreed with line manager.
