Chelmsford, United Kingdom First City Recruitment Full time

We have a new opportunity available for a Delegate Executive, working within Defence Events. Based in Chelmsford, offering a salary of £24’000 plus a realistic £12’000 bonus on top. Benefits include an uncapped bonus scheme, 28 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays) plus two weeks additional leave in December, regular team social events, a professional working environment with full training, regular travel (both domestic and international fully paid for), and excellent career progression with a legacy of promoting from within. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.

You will be working for a successful company established in 2009, as a Delegate Executive, within the Defence Events industry. They have grown to become one of the leading providers of intelligence, insight and debate serving the global defence community. Their events are chaired by leading figures from the naval and army community, who offer a unique insight into how global armed forces are addressing the challenges and evolving threats in the ever-changing international arena.

Their events are all about people, and they are obsessed with bringing together a more diverse and senior-level audience than any other event in their market. As the Delegate Executive you will be at the heart of all that they do, and you will play a critical role in the success of their events. They work with a diverse range of companies, from global large-scale Prime contractors to niche technology providers. They are constantly developing new products to offer a full suite of engagement solutions centred around their event propositions. They have already helped over 1000 clients position their brands, products and solutions with their Defence Leaders and Navy Leaders audience through events and digital campaigns, and they want to help more clients.

This is a phone-based role where you will be conducting numerous qualitative discussions each day with the goal of selling passes to their target prospects, via a tried-and-tested process.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a passion to work within the defence sector with the Armed Forces. If you have any exposure to the Armed Forces, it would be highly beneficial. You will also need to be able to travel to attend their global events.

They will consider someone fresh out of university, with a 2:1 or above, who is seeking an opportunity to work in sales and is highly drive to success. Or someone who has office-based telephone sales experience. Or someone who has been in the Armed Forces who wants to get into Events and Sales.

You will need to have an extremely clear, professional and well-spoken telephone manner. With confidence to speak to senior ranking personnel within the Armed Forces. This really is a rare and wonderful opportunity.
