We are currently looking to recruit caring empathetic support workers for our homes in Chesterfield & new home in Mansfield. Our homes specialise in Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and mild Learning Disabilities for children aged 6 - 18yrs.

As a Children's Support Worker, you will take on a key role in providing care and support within a residential childcare setting. Working closely with the team and management, your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and development of children in care.

You will ensure that the child voice is always heard and are working towards the child’s future, by following all relevant plans. Listening to the children through both their verbal and non verbal cues and ensuring their views are heard. Advocating for their needs.

Manage crises, challenging behaviours, and emergency situations. Follow de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies. To keep the children safe at all times.

You will be a positive role model in a child’s life, helping to reshape, adapt and to grow from their past, which may have been traumatic causing them to need help in understanding their emotions and responses. All CQS staff are expected to be empathetic and understanding of our child’s individual needs, be that physical or emotional.

All staff are expected to work within PACE therapeutic boundaries and support the children to reach their potential - whatever that may be - We provide a family dynamic and model positive relationships no matter our role within the company - we work together

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Promote the physical, social and emotional well-being of our young people by supporting them in building their resilience
- Strive to enable them to achieve positive outcomes by providing them with enriching opportunities where they can make positive contributions.
- Encourage young people to learn and develop through utilising multi-agency partnerships and accessing high-quality support.
- Offer love and acceptance to deliver unconditional positive regard using the principles of trauma-informed practice.
- Nurture young people through their support pathway by helping them to develop their understanding of their risks and behaviours; and support their sense of identity.
- Encourage young people to dream and aspire, promoting their self-worth and building confidence.
- Create long-term safety and stability for young people that extends beyond their time in support.
- Contribute to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
- Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
- Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate
- Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are completed and any concerns reported to management.
- Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from Managers.
- Maintaining and promoting standards to high levels of professionalism in line with company ethos as expected by CQS and Ofsted
- Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting key working and independence skills.
- Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development
- Any other duties placed on you by the Registered Managers, Responsible Individual, or the children themselves.
