An enthusiastic, motivated person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills is needed to work in a team co-ordinating waiting times for radiotherapy and to ensure the timely booking of patients using our bespoke oncology booking system. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that radiotherapy treatments are entered onto the Trust patient administration system and that coding for these patients is correct.

The post is based within the Radiotherapy Department in Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

The department has 5 linear accelerator treatment machines and 2 CT scanners and works closely with other radiotherapy services, seeing on average 150 - 200 patients per day.

You will be working within a multi-professional service, alongside therapy radiographers, Doctors and other administration and clerical personnel.

**Communication**:
To support the triaging of referrals by liaising with key clinical staff

To act as a point of contact for queries from clinical and non-clinical staff

**Patient Care**:
To show a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives and carers. This may require acting with resilience to deal with sometimes distressed patients and relatives in a professional and empathetic manner

**Organising and Planning**:
Ensure clinic lists are effectively utilised in discussion with the appropriate clinician and manager, and rebook any cancelled appointment slots.

**Information Resources**:
Receive Radiotherapy referrals and register referral details onto the Oncology Management system and the Cancer Register in line with trust standards.

To book patient appointments for radiotherapy and help to maintain confirmed treatment schedules, taking into account clinical priority, Cancer Waiting times targets, Doctor availability and machine maintenance timetables.

Line Management of our team of clerical officer/receptionists.
