Cashier and Customer Service

We are seeking a permanent employee at our CaterChoice Click & Collect Department, Hampstead branch to work full time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm and either a Saturday or Sunday 11am till 5:30pm. The position involves using a touchscreen till system; taking payments; direct communication with customers. We ask that you be reliable, have good numeracy skills and are able to offer pleasant and efficient customer service. We would prefer at least one year's retail experience; although you will receive supervised training until you feel confident to work under your own initiative.
**Cashier duties and responsibilities**
- Scanning items and explaining prices to customers
- Taking a tally of the till, when required during a shift and producing transaction reports
- Performing basic math's functions to collect payments and give change
- Collect payments
- Asking customers about their shopping experience for exceptional customer service
- Using specific till technology such as registers, scanners, scales and credit/debit card terminals
- Processing coupons and vouchers
- Balancing the till at the end of the day and maintaining an accurate cash drawer
- Handling exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
- Checking stock and refilling shelves
- Keeping the checkout area, clean and orderly
