Cashier/ Finance Assistant

Protocol is delighted to be recruiting for Cashier/Finance Assistant at a college in the South of Birmingham area.
**Salary: £18,433 - £20,453** pro rata - Acual Salary £7,900 - £8,765pa
**Hours**: Part Time - 18.5 Hours
The post holder will be required to work 3 days a week: Monday to Wednesday 12.30pm - 19.30pm (including ½ hour lunch and 13.30pm - 5pm on Thursday (No lunch break. The late night’s shifts may change in accordance with the business needs.
**Term time**: 38 weeks
**This role will require an Enhanced DBS**
**Duties**:
- To process all student payments and recording the information onto the student record system.
- To provide accurate advice, guidance and fee assessment for course fees to all students and instalment plans
- To assist Credit Control team with collecting outstanding fees from students.
- Responsible for recording daily takings onto cash sheets and entering the information onto the College finance system.
- Record all banking and Vat transactions on spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes.
**Person Specification**:
- Proven experience in all aspects of Credit Control, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of finance systems
- Hold a level 2 or above in English (Literacy) and Mathematics (Numeracy) or demonstrate skills at that level
- Have sound experience of working within a financial environment, to include the handling of cash and banking, working with and implementing systems and processes to ensure effective financial control.
