**Job summary**:
The post holder will provide a cashier service for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, controlling the recording, collecting and banking of monies as well as the accurate maintenance of records relating to the cashiering activity according to required Trust standards. The post holder will be required to be aware of the Governments 'Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme' and changes to the benefits system and effects for claimants of patient travel expenses. The Cashiers office is open for business between the hours of 10am - 2pm, Monday to Friday.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English
- Cash handling / Cashing Up / Float Reconciliation experience
- Working knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets
- Working knowledge of computerised input
- Accounts office or Banking background

**Desirable**:

- Accounts office experience

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Able to demonstrate the ability to make judgements requiring analysis of the available facts.
- Investigates financial queries and analyses data to identify discrepancies.

**Additional Criteria**:
**Essential**:

- Able to work within set protocols and procedures with minimum supervision.
- Professional appearance.
- Courteous and diplomatic when dealing with people and able to deal with detailed queries sensitively and in a manner that non-finance staff can understand.
- Capable of working flexibly within a team.
- Follows guidelines and may be needed to comment on changes.

**Desirable**:

- Keen to develop skills through training.
- Ability to review procedures and propose service improvements.
