**Job description**:
Could you be the new Estate Facilities Officers (EFO)? This is an opportunity for a motivated and hardworking individual in a key customer facing role within Service Delivery Area (SDA) 6 (North East). The EFO will require an ability to address sensitive matters and manage the expectations of customers.

The job is high profile, exciting, varied and provides an opportunity to improve leadership skills whilst working collaboratively with DIO colleagues, Industry Partners and customers.

The EFO will work with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes as part of a wider team enabling DIO to ensure satisfactory outcomes. As part of a team, the EFO can also be expected to actively participate in delivery capability within your delegated powers; this is an exciting role with wide ranging requirements and plenty to engage your interest

This role plays a significant part in assuring the delivery of services to our customers on a day-to-day basis. This role will oversee, deliver, support and assure all aspects of day-to-day hard & soft FM services, including contract and supplier management. The EFO is accountable for ensuring that their team adhere to and conform with all agreed DIO TLB processes and operating procedures. This role is involved in supporting the provision of service in the SDA to deliver five key tasks:
1. providing assurance of service delivery and statutory compliance of the estate.
2. providing key stakeholder engagement and feedback on Supplier’s delivery.
3. performance management to ensure that the Supplier is providing the agreed level of service against agreed indicators.
4. issue resolution of site-based delivery issues to maintain operation outputs, agreed Statements of Need (SoNs) and Site Information Packs (SIPs).
5. in-year programme delivery.

We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman.

**Person specification**:
The EFO will support the team; working to assure compliance relating to policy, instructions, and guidance. Working to improve operational efficiency and compliance within the policy framework. Recording and managing issues up the Governance chain regularly, and collaborating closely with assurance, DIO and Industry Partner teams.

The EFO will strive to build strong collaborative, professional working relationships both within SDA 6, other DIO teams and the wider MOD, to provide the continued level of support needed across a diverse estate. Supporting and participating in a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assurance of the hard and soft facilities management contracts.
- Utilising contract mechanisms to report defects and early warnings.
- Processing of changes required and agreed by the customer to the contract.
- Trend analysis from assurance activities.
- Preparing reports in support of management meetings.
- Processing of infrastructure work requests.
- Providing support to maintain DIO operational requirements and respond to assist management requests to support changing departmental priorities.

A full UK Driving licence will be required as use of public transport is not feasible in the locations to be visited.

**Desirable Skills & Experience**
- Building relationships with customers to develop and maintain a positive reputation, service delivery and effective resolution of issues.
- The ability to self-manage time, organise, coordinate, and work alongside the Industry partner.
- The ability to take the initiative and understand when to refer issues and problems.
- IT skills (Microsoft Office). The job holder will have to learn in-house systems.
- Experience in audit and assurance would be beneficial.
