**About the role**:
The University’s 2018-30 Strategic Framework lays out the University’s ambitions and the clear role played by our structures, how we operate, how we work and how we deliver people and culture change.

Under the leadership of the Director of Talent, Culture and Inclusion (TCI) the Head of Organisation Design and Effectiveness will identify organisation design needs aligned to academic themes and strategic priorities. Talent, Culture and Inclusion is a dynamic part of our People Experience and Culture team. Our purpose is to evolve and grow the organisation and its people to be future fit through embedding an inclusive culture that promotes a positive employee experience, connecting us all to our university’s purpose.

**Your Impact**

You will be the custodian of the University’s organisational design principles and be nresponsible for evolving culture, building organisational effectiveness and supporting transformational change through targeted organisation design interventions. You will embed principles of organisation design into deliberating bodies, decision making, structures, processes, systems and the culture of the organisation. You will hone organisational efficiency, shape culture, steward performance management and architect longer-term organisational effectiveness.

- Evolving culture to enhance engagement, employee experience and organisational performance
- Charting new ways of working through the likes of Lean and Agile to enhance and innovate how we enable people performance

**Principal accountabilities**:
**Consulting accountabilities**:

- Understand client challenges and opportunities across the University relative to University purpose, strategy and ambitions, acting as an enabler to academic and professional services delivery, staff and student experience and university operations.
- Design and implement integrated and systemic solutions that yield measurable and sustainable change.
- Provide exceptional and continually improving client support to key stakeholders, engaging them participatively in change, ensuring they are well informed and that their expertise is harnessed in delivering enterprise-wide initiatives for collective gain.
- Provide strategic OD&E support and guidance to senior level clients, departments and teams to commission relevant OD&E interventions to enact change and transformation.
- Develop and maintain technical OD&E proficiency through contact with relevant sector bodies, professional associations and other HE institutions to ensure optimal outside-in delivery of competitive practice and to broaden and deepen organisational OD&E capability and capacity.
- Represent the University on relevant external groups and successfully contribute to the broader strategic decision making of the University through activity and involvement in relevant groups and committees.

**OD&E accountabilities for integrated service design and delivery**:

- Provide thought leadership on organisation design and organisational effectiveness.
- Introduce, sustain, deepen and innovate approaches and service offerings for organisation design, operating model shifts, culture shifts, employee experience design and performance management with a particular focus on their contribution to delivering university purpose, strategy and ambitions.
- Ensure the University has the optimal shape, size, structures and operating model to achieve strategic objectives by identifying gaps in where the organisation is and where it wants to be and designing OD&E practices that bridge gaps.
- Effect transformation and continuous improvement through reviewing organisational wants and needs by anticipating and responding to changes in strategy, goals or organisational purpose.
