**About us**

V21 are a local charity with facilities across South Wales. We support life-changing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, our trainees, to realise their potential through: catering; growing; creating; learning and making initiatives. Many of these projects are social enterprises that provide training for people with learning disabilities and volunteering opportunities for others.

**About the job**

You will be working in our busy community building V21 Sbectrwm Centre, home to several V21 projects, like minded organisations and room hire opportunities. You and the team of trainees will run the reception area as well as manage the day to day running of the building.
- Co-ordinate all activities relating to trainee learning, and the development of the Reception Skills Project.
- To play a part in developing people’s potential through increasing confidence, building self-esteem, making them feel valued and appreciated as individuals.
- Actively seek out and provide opportunities for trainee development i.e. within Reception Skills such as work experience, basic skills (literacy, numeracy, money and ICT), and personal, social and independent skills.
- The provision of reception / administration skills and telephone training for approximately 3 project trainees per day, providing support and appropriate tools and materials.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day running of the Sbectrwm Centre. Including co-ordinating room bookings, arranging refreshments and buffets for room hires, setting up and maintaining the hall and function rooms.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure that the building is safe and clean, as well as ensuring the toilets are stocked and to an acceptable standard.
- Ensure the Sbectrwm Centre provides excellent customer service to users, tenants, event organisers and all visitors to the centre in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain the office / building administration ensuring the efficient, timely and smooth running of the centre’s bookings and events.

**Essential Criteria**:
**Qualifications/Education**
- A good standard of education - minimum of 3 GCSE’s grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language and Maths.

**Experience**
- Experience of working with people with either: a learning disability or other group with complex needs.
- Proven practical experience of administration
- Training / teaching experience.
- Budget handling experience.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of the learning, developmental and personal needs of people with learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of appropriate accreditation / qualification bodies.
- Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety within an office training environment.
- Knowledge of the Social Enterprise sector.

**Key Skills/Abilities**
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to plan and develop training programmes and undertake regular assessment of progress.
- Ability to develop and implement administration systems and procedures.
- Evidence of strong organisational skills.
- The ability to work without close supervision, to manage own time to plan and prioritise workload.
- Sound inter-personal skills with a clear understanding of the importance of working as part of a team.
- At ease and competent in the use of ICT.
- Ability to work to targets and deadlines.

**Desirable criteria**:

- A teaching and or management qualification.
- Knowledge of or qualification in first aid.
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector and related issues (such as accessing funding, working with clients with learning needs).
- Supervisory experience, preferably in either a social services or educational setting.
- A clean driving licence and the willingness to travel to other V21 projects.
